Shimla:I have visited Shimla lot many times but one thing I never forget doing before walking out of the city is to visit the Shimla mall in and out. It is just as if something rolling down the mountain is the malls of Shimla. Lots of stuff you can get at the Shimla mall. All guests to Shimla as you might expect walk down the Mall, the main esplanade that runs along the top of the crest - a busy shopping area with old majestic buildings, memento shops and bistro. At the crown of the Mall is Scandal Point, a large open square with a view of the town - a favorite rendezvous for visitors and the local people. Overlooking it is the well-designed Christ Church with its fine blemished glass windows. The labyrinths of Shimla's open market trickle over the rim of the Mall. Accommodation in the Gothic magnificent of the Viceregal Lodge is the Indian Institute of Advanced studies. It is India's foremost academy for higher study. Moreover, Very close to the Institute, in a grand building set in drudgery lawns, is the museum. It has an album of Pahari miniatures, stone sculpture, local handicrafts, textiles and embroidery. The precipitous mount to Jakhoo Hill, Shimla's utmost point, is worthwhile for splendid views of the civic and its ambiance. At the top is an old Hanuman temple. It is about (2Km/1.2 mile). The open grounds at Annandale, below the rim, were a favorite location in the days of the eRaji - the venue of picnics, cricket and polo.A pretty picnic spot beyond Annandale is located in the copiously wooded Glen, adjacent to a luminous tributary. ( 4 Km/2.4 mile)The quiet and lovely suburb of Summer Hill has secluded, shady walks and charming views. Here Gandhiji hang about on his visits to Shimla, in the graceful Gerogian mansion that belonged to Rajkumari Amrit Kaur. Summer Hill is located on the Shimla -Kalka railway line. (5 Km/3 mile)Just ahead of Summer Hill is the 67 m waterfall, gushinng into a deep chasm. The Falls are seen after the monsoon. (7 Km/4 mile).A 15 minute climb from Boileauganj, Prospect Hill is another favorite walk and vantage point with breath-taking views. There is little temple to Kamna Devi on the top of the hill ( 5 Km/3 mile)A serene location with delightful walks, Sanjauli is ideal for a tranquil weekend. There are fine vistas and the lights of Shimla and Chail can be seen twinkling at night. On the other side, Mashobra and Naldehra are visible. Next journey definite I will cross Himachal Pradesh and head towards Kashmir. CYA there guys !!!!!!!!!!!
